    SIDELIGHTS: Author and educator Michela Calore taught early modern literature at the University of Reading in Reading, England, where she held a position in the School of English and American Literature. Calore's books focus on Elizabethan and Shakespearean drama. Appius and Virginia is an early 17th-century stage play, a tragedy by John Webster (and perhaps Thomas Heywood).
